What is L-Glutathione and how does it work against ageing, hyper pigmentation and over all wellness of the body?
Glutathione is body’s own master antioxidant comprising of three amino acids – cysteine, glutamate & glycine. It is a powerful antioxidant and detoxifier that protects the cells from free radicals and oxidative stress and it boosts the immune system.
Nevertheless the levels of Glutathione in body decline after the age of 20-25 years, depending on the diet and lifestyle of an individual. It is also designed to protect us by protecting the immune system and helps the immunity cells to proliferate and attack germs and viruses more effectively. It protects mitochondrial DNA from breaking down hence slows down aging and decrease cell damage. It also reduces oxidative stress on the body by attacking the free radicals. The body feels detoxified and experience generalised increase in energy levels.
The role of glutathione as a skin enhancer and whitener
Instead of naturally producing eumelanin which causes skin darkening, L-Glutathione alters the process and in turn yields pheomelanin which makes skin lighter and radiant. It whitens the skin tone and removes scars, pigmentation and uneven skin tone. It suppress the formation of acne and makes skin appear evidently radiant and clear.
The collagen present in the injection improves the support of tissues, skin, organs, tendons, and ligaments etc. it replenishes the reduced collagen due to ageing which improves elasticity of the skin; makes it more supple, moisturised and radiant. The Vitamin C and Vitamin E present in the injection helps skin repair itself, helps slow down ageing by stopping free radical damage.
How often do I need to visit for each session?
Recommended ideal dosage is one shot in every two to three days or at least one shot in a week, for three months. Maintenance session should be carried out on one shot in every 10-12 days for another three months. The patient can switch to oral glutathione supplements once desired results are achieved.
How much time does it take to show the result?
Initial results are seen after two to three sessions as well, but discernible changes are evident at one month assessment after five to six shots.
What are the pre & post procedure precautions to be taken?
As per procedure, we should counsel the patient properly regarding the timing and treatment and expectant result particularly with his /her skin condition. Post treatment, the patient should avoid alcohol and cigarette smoking. And also should inculcate healthy lifestyle and balanced diet for long health benefits.
