Laser Hair Removal
At The Body Perfect, we use the best of laser technologies. We use different techniques for different type of treatments. These lasers techniques are approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for permanent hair reduction.
We offer four different technologies to target different type of skin to ensure safety and accurate results.
ND Yag laser, gives superior results for all skin types with a high safety record on Indian skin.
Diode laser gives safe and effective results for fairer skin and enables us to target lightly pigmented hair.
IP laser helps target fine hair in all skin types. This technology uses a broad procedure hand piece that helps reduce procedure time.
Q switched NdYAG laser is used for very short and fine hair with emphasis on pigmented areas.
How does the laser procedure start?
Just before the procedure, hair on the targeted area is trimmed to a few millimeters above the skin surface.
The laser equipment is adjusted according to the color, thickness, and location of the hair and also with the color of the skin.
How does laser procedure work?
The primary principle behind the technique is selective photothermolysis (SPTL), a technique that involves matching of a specific wavelength of light and pulse duration to obtain optimal effect on a targeted tissue with minimal effect on the surrounding tissue. Please note that blond/grey/very fine hair is not suitable for laser procedure.
Is the procedure safe?
The procedure is safe and is approved by the FDA, Lasers have been used in the medical and cosmetic procedures for over 25 years and no long-term side effects have been reported.
Is the procedure pain less?
Each one of us have different levels of enduring pain. As procedure settings vary, according to individual skin and hair types, so do the levels of discomfort.
To reduce the discomfort level, you can opt for topical anesthetic. In addition, you can also try our patented inbuilt cooling system that is used to cool the area where the procedure is done.
A detailed consultation with our experts and a test patch before the actual procedure will give you an idea of the procedure and any discomfort level.
Who performs the procedure?
All our procedures are performed by fully qualified laser technicians who have undergone a series of trainings to conduct the procedure safely and accurately.
How many sessions are required?
On an average, 6 to 8 sessions are recommended. Some clients do get results within 3 to 4 sessions whereas some need more sessions
Sessions are done at an interval of 20 to 45 days. Maintenance sessions will be required few years after the laser procedure is done.
How much time is required for each session?
Depends on the size of the area to be treated. Lasers have a variable spot size of 3 to 30 mm. Time taken for a bikini plus underarm laser procedure is around 30 minutes whereas, time required for an upper lip procedure takes around 10 minutes.
Can I remove hair between laser procedures?
Do not remove hair from your skin in between laser procedures as the old dead hair (the hair cast) has to work its way out.
The hair cast (the treated hair which falls out by itself) often appears t o be growing for up to two weeks after a procedure, after which it falls out.
You can remove the hair cast by shaving or trimming.
